Champaign County Day at the Illinois
State Fair
Full Day of Free Entertainment,
Reindeer, and Interactive Displays to
Showcase what Champaign County Has to
Offer
July 26, 2006
"Picture
Yourself" Champaign County at the
Illinois State Fair this year!
Several organizations in Champaign
County have teamed up together to
sponsor and promote Saturday, August 12th
as Champaign County Day at the 154th
annual Illinois State Fair. Originally
spearheaded by the
Champaign County Convention & Visitors
Bureau, the organization has
partnered with the Champaign County
Alliance,
Champaign County Chamber of Commerce,
Champaign County Economic Development
Corporation, Champaign County Sports
Commission and
40 North 88 West to put together a
very entertaining, interactive and
informative atmosphere at the fair under
the theme "Picture Yourself in Champaign
County." The concept of such a
sponsorship is to build excitement for
Illinois residents to picture their own
unique experiences in Champaign County.
Located in
the
Heartland area of the fairgrounds
near Gate 2, Champaign County’s presence
will include a large tent and common
area as well as a stage that will be
packed with live entertainment from
Champaign County. Features that day will
include: live performances from Candy
Foster and Shades of Blue, the
Bowdacious String Band, and several
other local performers, as well as a
live reindeer from Hardy’s Reindeer
Ranch, an instrument petting zoo and an
interactive tailgate party. Residents of
Champaign County are welcome to join the
organizations at the fair; volunteer
opportunities are still available as
well. For more information,
