High-Tech Programs and Services
To support Champaign Countys reputation as a premier high-tech business location, the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) offers programs and services designed for long-term economic growth in the high-tech community.
Business Visitation Program
The Business Visitation Program is designed to promote a thriving high-tech community in Champaign County by better understanding the sectors unique challenges and facilitating productive solutions. To support this program, representatives from EDC, the University of Illinois and local municipalities visit over 100 businesses during the year. Program activities include:
- Facilitating monthly networking events for businesses in Champaign County and abroad.
- Coordinating regular meetings to address challenges facing the high-tech sector.
- Distributing an informative monthly newsletter.
- Representing the interests of and advocating on behalf of the high-tech community.
- Providing information on professional development and funding opportunities.
- Marketing the technologies, research and high-tech industry in Champaign County.

The monthly eTech Update newsletter highlights news and upcoming events important to Champaign's fast-growing high-tech sector.

techMix! is an informal social gathering hosted by EDC. Its great for mingling with high-tech entrepreneurs, business consultants and representatives from the local banking community or for just taking a break from the daily routine. The next techMix! will be on Wednesday, November 15th at at 100 Trade Center South, Champaign, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will be sponsored by Ramshaw Realty.

Hosted by the EDC in conjunction with EnterpriseWorks. techTalk is an ongoing seminar series featuring business professionals that address a range of topics of interest to the high-tech community.

A partnership between EDC and the local business community, the Mentoring Program provides University of Illinois students from MBA, engineering and other programs with an opportunity for real-business-world mentoring by local business leaders.
